Love Village (2023)
Over the last few days I've been binge watching Love Village on Netflix, it's basically an older Japanese people Love Island out in the mountains, the truer comparison would be Terrace House but I'm gonna assume most people on here haven't watched that XD Terrace House ended cause their japanese viewers basically cyber bullied one of the participents into suicide over something literally not her fault. Rest in peace Hana :(
So Terrace House got cancelled forever basically. There's been so many dating shows that sprung up with the same model in it's place, which is having celebrities commentate on the show participants' actions. It's a very asian thing to watch.
The only warning I have is if you watch Love Village, they use a lot of Backstreet Boys music LOL It's so out of place and random. Only a few of the songs fit in my opinion but that's just me. I didn't grow up being into boy bands/groups, it never made sense to me and still doesn't.
They're heading into season 3 this year, so that's crazy. I think it's very refreshing watching "boomers" fall in love. The youngest person I've seen is 35 haha But the internet has dumbed it down to grouping them all as boomers.
I watch Love Island and Love is Blind with my husband's cousin, those shows are so weird and over the top and it's very tiring seeing people just act recklessly. Like being together and having opposing political values is honestly 1000% stupid and a waste of everyone's time. But w/e makes good TV I guess. Love Island is mostly clout chasers/D-List Macro-Influencers so it gets vapid and shallow fast. The later seasons of Love is Blind is just so sad cause they can't find anyone to apply to the show that the producers will literally reach out to people on instagram. IDK that's pretty cringe to me. And that itself has led to so many weird and specific problems on the show. Like stalking prior to coming onto the show, since every season is location based, instagram does prioritize showing you mutuals in your area if you have your locations on. It's more likely than not that in more recent seasons people were shown to have connections/mutuals outside of the show. It makes things so awkward.
