Husband's Journeyman's Exam

Husband took off today so he could go take his test for becoming a journeyman (licensed electrician), hopefully he can pass on his first try, he hadn't met anyone that failed it and he's the smartest in his class at math, so here's hoping. He'll get another pay bump after everything all goes through; when he reaches the required amount of work hrs and passing classes. The classes are sadly a joke and the union is extremely unorganized about it, so he's technically required to take a semester for no reason.
When he finally passes the exam, our quality of life will improve immensely. Living in Los Angeles is expensive. We don't intend to ever move cause there's not much we can do job wise without completely starting over. Remote work is always hard to find. We can finally save more stably, he's been paycheck to paycheck and when I've had a job I was able to put away 1k a month. I have zero debt even as I'm unemployed now. I coupon and only buy deals for the most part. If it's not on sale, I'm not buying. For the past two months, I've mostly used points from reward programs or gift cards to pay for things. We are both extremely lucky to be blessed with great friends. I still have friends from when I was 9 and we live relatively close (within 10 miles) and we make food for each other or buy things for each other to share/split costs. Whatever little bit it is, it is always extremely helpful.
phew, glad to hear! The ones here in Portugal can be very nasty too, some bad memories :(
oh man i'm sorry :( I know there was a big one last year for portugal, it's crazy how fast it can get out of control. the one by me apparently started when they were trying to CLEAR the area to prevent fires too. some of the embers have started other fires elsewhere near me but those have been easier to put out so far

i really loved it. it was unpredictable, dealt with serious topics in a fun way. I liked that they address issues that most people take for granted in their day to day
