My husband and I live with his abuelita in her home. She noticed that I did my own nails cause I change out the color a lot. She asked me to show her how to do her nails, so she can start doing it herself instead of going ot the salon. I said sure and just ended up doing both hands haha.



She tells me that the last time she got them done was for my brother in law's wedding back in November. She shortly fell after that and wasn't able/didn't want to go to the salon. She also told me that they charged her $90.00. I was very confused. She only gets regular polish. So I asked her more questions about how they do her nails at the salon. They don't apply a base coat... they do apply a top coat. She called it getting a manicure but the only thing they did aside from painting was filing.



No trimming, no cuticle care, no massage, no exfoliation, no soaking, no nothing like what the actual fuck.



I confirmed with her again, they don't put acrylics or use gel/gel x, nor use a uv light/lamp?? NOTHING. Anything that would justify it being $90. WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU CHARGING HER $90 FOR?? YOU ARE INSANE. Her nails only last as long as they do because she wears dish washing gloves, otherwise it would for sure chip in like 3 days T_T



It really pissed me off they did this to her cause she is old, and people are constantly preying on her ignorance of the world. Last time she had a job, women barely allowed to have a credit card (like the mid 70s), she literally doesn't know anything. She's also been going to this place for over 30 years T_T Like is this how yall treat loyal customers?



Whatever. She knows how to do her nails herself now. And if she doesn't want to do it, I can do it for her.





Fire Update:

It's 30% contained now and over 15 different areas close to the fire boundary has been lifted and went from yellow (be ready set to leave) to no warnings now (no danger). So now I'm 2 zones away from danger, so that's great! The air quality is so bad orz but I'm really feeling a lot better today now at least. Just a slight headache.
