I moved out when I was around 24 years old to live with my bf, now husband. That's not a thing you do in Thai culture, most kids live at home forever if they can help it. Thai Parents rather you be a hoe at home and have the bf move in with yall than have the kid leave LOL Generally the kids stay. So this became hot gossip for the neighborhood and we got hella Thai neighbors so the word spread fast.



One of the neighbors, Nancy, she talks in a way that's like complisults, compliments that are also insults. Things like, "You're so pretty, for a fat person." Literally insane shower thoughts vocalized. She's also the type of lady that would compete with other moms, showing off their kids' achievements to talk down on others, etc.

So when word of me moving out got to Nancy she said to my mom, "OMG your daughter moved out? That's so sad, you must be lonely. No one's home to take care of you. It's so obvious she got pregnant and is trying to hide it from you."



I wasn't pregnant, that's an insane thing to say, lady LOL Plus if I was pregnant I would have just stayed living at home, free child care LMAO?? But whatever, Nancy wanted to talk shit I guess.



I don't know what snapped in my mom but she didn't acknowledge anything that Nancy said and her reply was, "Maybe if you were prettier, your husband wouldn't have left you for your younger sister." They didn't talk for like 3 years until Nancy need help with and was desperate.
